How we collect, use and protect your personal data.
Last updated: October 2026
Service provider and data controller
The JourneyToItaly service is provided by Vitodriver, VAT no. 09457311218, which is also the controller of your personal data. We operate from Naples. For any request, including about your data, email info@journeytoitaly.net or message us on WhatsApp at +39 334 231 2361.
Data collected when you book
When you book we collect your first and last name, email, phone, pickup, destination and stop addresses, date and time, number of passengers and bags, flight number and notes for the driver (if you provide them). Payment takes place on Stripe's secure page: we never see or store your card details, only the outcome and amount of the payment.
Customer area and account
If you create an account we store your name, email and, if you use one, your password, which is saved in encrypted form by our authentication provider and cannot be read by anyone on our side. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile picture with us: we never receive your Google password. In the customer area we show the bookings made with the same email, only after verifying that the email is yours.
Purposes and legal basis
We use your data to organise the trip, handle payments, refunds and cancellations, send confirmations and service messages, provide support and give you access to the customer area (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and to meet our tax and accounting obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We do not use your data for marketing without your explicit consent and we never sell it.
Who we share data with
Your name, contact details, meeting point and trip details are shared with the licensed (NCC) driver who performs the service. We also rely on providers that process data on our behalf, only as far as needed: Stripe (payments), Neon (database and customer-area login), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery), Mapbox (maps, address search and route calculation) and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google).
Transfers outside the European Union
Some of these providers process data in the United States, where our database and login service are also located. These transfers rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and, where applicable, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies and browser storage
We only use technical cookies that the site needs to work: those that keep you signed in to the customer area and those used by Stripe for payment. In your browser's storage we keep your chosen language and the booking in progress, so you don't lose your data if you reload the page. We use no profiling or advertising cookies and no analytics tools. Some destination photos are loaded from Wikimedia Commons.
How long we keep data
Booking data is kept for as long as needed to run the trip and provide follow-up support and, for tax and accounting records, for up to 10 years as required by law. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete the account.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data (including deleting your account), to restrict processing, for data portability, or object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
To exercise your rights, delete your account or ask anything about privacy, email info@journeytoitaly.net or message us on WhatsApp at +39 334 231 2361.
